LifeFamily Learning Center (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is a licensed early childhood program in Austin, Texas. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect personal information when you visit lifefamilylearningcenter.org, schedule a tour, enroll a child, use our parent portal, or interact with our ads — including ads we may run on Facebook, Instagram, and other Meta platforms.

This page is written for families and for advertising platforms that require a public privacy policy. It is a starter policy for a school like ours, not legal advice. Please contact us if you have questions about how we handle your information.

1. Who we are

LifeFamily Learning Center is part of the LifeFamily community and operates a Southwest Austin campus at 8901 W. Highway 71, Austin, TX 78735. The website and related forms are intended for parents, guardians, and other adults exploring care for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers — not for children to use on their own.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

Contact and family details you give us, such as name, email, phone number, address, child’s first name and age or classroom, and messages you send.
Enrollment and program records needed to care for a child, such as emergency contacts, authorized pickup lists, health and allergy notes, attendance, and billing information.
Tour and interest form information submitted through our website or third-party forms (for example, a tour request form).
Parent portal information if you use Brightwheel or another classroom app we provide, subject to that provider’s own privacy terms.
Employment information if you apply for a job, such as a resume, work history, and contact details.
Automatic website data, such as IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, links clicked, referring website, and approximate location derived from IP address.
Advertising and analytics data from cookies, pixels, and similar tools, described below.

We collect information directly from parents and guardians, from your device when you visit our website, from service providers who help us run the school, and — if you interact with our ads — from advertising platforms such as Meta.

3. How we use information

We use personal information to:

Respond to tour requests, enrollment questions, and other messages
Provide childcare, communicate with families, and operate the learning center
Process payments and keep required licensing records
Improve our website, measure what content is helpful, and keep the site secure
Send updates you would reasonably expect, such as closures, events, or enrollment news
Review job inquiries
Run, measure, and improve advertising, including ads that may appear on Facebook and Instagram
Comply with law, protect children and staff, and address safety or legal issues

4. Advertising, Facebook, and Instagram

We may advertise openings, tours, events, or (when we are hiring) job opportunities on Meta products such as Facebook and Instagram. If we do, we may use tools that help us understand whether ads are working and show relevant ads to parents and other adults.

Those tools can include:

Meta Pixel and similar tags on our website, which may record that you visited a page, clicked a button, opened a form, or completed an action such as requesting a tour
Conversions API or similar server events that send limited activity data to Meta so we can measure ads more accurately
Custom Audiences, which may match hashed contact information (such as email or phone number) that you already provided to us with Meta accounts, so we can reach existing or prospective families
Lookalike or similar audiences that help Meta find other adults who may be interested in a program like ours, without giving us those people’s names in advance
Automatic placement and campaign reporting, such as impressions, clicks, and approximate reach

Meta may collect or receive information about your visit through cookies, pixels, and your Facebook or Instagram account settings, and may combine it with other information it has. Meta uses that information according to its own policies. You can review Meta’s practices at facebook.com/privacy/policy and manage ad preferences in your Facebook or Instagram settings.

We do not use children’s personal information to create advertising audiences, and we do not intend our ads to be directed to children under 13. Ads are meant for parents, guardians, and other adults.

If we run employment ads, we will use those campaigns only to reach adults who may be interested in working with us, not to market to children.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

Our website and advertising partners may use cookies, pixels, local storage, and similar technologies to:

Keep the site working (for example, load pages and remember basic preferences)
Understand traffic and which pages people visit
Measure advertising and limit how often you see the same ad
Help us reach people who have already visited our site (retargeting) or people who are likely to be interested in licensed childcare in Austin

6. Children’s privacy

This website is for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information through the website from children under 13, and we do not condition a child’s participation in our program on the child providing more information than is reasonably needed for care and enrollment.

When we enroll a child, a parent or guardian provides the information we need to serve that child. Classroom and health records are used to care for children, communicate with families, meet licensing requirements, and keep the community safe — not to advertise to children.

If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us through the website, please contact us and we will delete it as appropriate.

Our practices are intended to respect the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) for this website. Enrollment files are maintained as school and childcare records, with access limited to staff who need them.

7. Photos, video, and classroom stories

Teachers may take photos or short videos of classroom life to share with a child’s family through our parent portal. We may also use photos on our website, social media, or printed materials when a parent or guardian has given permission.

We will not use a child’s image in paid ads without appropriate parental permission. If you want a child omitted from public photos, tell the front office and we will honor that request as we are reasonably able to do so.

We do not sell families’ personal information. We may share information with:

Service providers who help us operate, such as website hosting, form tools, email, payment processors, the Brightwheel parent portal, and advertising platforms including Meta
Licensing, health, or safety authorities when the law requires it or when we believe in good faith that sharing is needed to protect a child, family, or staff member
Professional advisors such as insurers, accountants, or attorneys, under confidentiality obligations
A successor organization if the learning center is transferred, merged, or reorganized, with notice where appropriate

Those providers may only use the information as needed to provide their services to us or as described in their own policies (for example, Meta’s advertising tools).

9. How long we keep information

We keep enrollment, health, and attendance records as long as needed to serve a family and as required by Texas childcare licensing and other law. Website analytics, advertising logs, and tour inquiries are kept only as long as reasonably useful for those purposes, then deleted or de-identified.

10. Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate for a small school, including limited staff access to records. No website or email system is perfectly secure. Please use care when sending sensitive information over email.

11. Your choices and rights

You may:

Ask us what personal information we have about your family, or ask us to correct it
Ask us to delete information we are not required to keep for licensing, safety, or legal reasons
Opt out of promotional emails by replying or emailing us (we may still send operational messages, such as billing or closure notices)
Control cookies in your browser and ad preferences in your Meta account
Use Meta’s tools to see why you were shown an ad and to limit targeted advertising

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy law. Texas’s Data Privacy and Security Act and similar laws often apply only after a business meets size or data-volume thresholds. If a law applies to you and to us, we will honor a verifiable request. To make a request, email hello@lifefamilylearningcenter.org from the address we have on file when possible, and tell us what you would like us to do.

We will not require you to create a Facebook account to use our website or to enroll.

12. Other websites and apps

Our site may link to third parties such as Brightwheel, Jotform, Google Maps, Instagram, Facebook, and giving pages. Those sites have their own privacy practices. This policy does not cover them.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as our program, website, or advertising tools change. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the website after an update means the revised policy applies to later collection and use.
